Most "ceramide" serums use a single synthetic ceramide and call it a day. Ours contains three plant-derived ceramide types (2, 3 and 8) that are structurally matched to the ones your skin actually produces, paired with a purpose-built delivery system to carry them deeper into the barrier where they're needed. Sea Aster calms reactivity and stimulates your skin's own lipid production, while Schisandra berry tackles inflammation at the source. Mondo Grass root extract goes further, reducing the frequency of flare-ups over time so your skin stays calmer for longer.

Directions

Once all the product has been dispensed, unscrew the pump from the bottle to separate the pump, cap and pouch from the glass bottle. Place the glass bottle into your household recycling. Place the pump, cap and pouch into your Pai mailer for delivery back to us.

All Pai boxes, cartons, sleeves and inserts can be recycled with your household paper recycling.

The majority of your Pai packaging can be recycled at home, but some components need specialist recycling. We've partnered with a specialist programme to make this as easy as possible for our UK customers.

Keep your Pai mailer box (it can be flat packed for easy storage). Fill it with the packaging elements you can't recycle at home, and clearly label the box RECYCLING. Create your free returns label and drop it off at the post office.

Is this serum fragrance-free and essential oil-free?

Yes, completely. Zero fragrance, zero essential oils. Many "calming" serums still contain lavender, tea tree or chamomile essential oils, which are known irritants for reactive skin types. Removing them entirely means Instant Kalmer won't trigger the very sensitivity it's designed to treat.

Is this suitable for rosacea?

Yes. Schisandra fruit extract contains lignans that block COX-2 and NF-kappaB inflammatory pathways at the molecular level, targeting the signalling cascade that drives rosacea-related redness. In a consumer trial of 51 women with sensitive skin over four weeks, 84% reported calmer skin and 78% said it instantly soothed on application.

Can I use Instant Kalmer if I have eczema or dermatitis?

Yes, and one of its key ingredients, Mondo Grass root extract, was specifically tested on people with these conditions. In a multicentre randomised controlled trial of 234 participants with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis, its oligofructans reduced flare-up frequency and intensity while extending the remission phase between episodes. Is it ok to use Instant Kalmer with moisturiser that isn’t Pai? Or better to use with Pai products? My skin is very reactive and I don’t want to introduce too many products too quickly. Thanks for your help.

My current routine is using the double cleanse combo then followed with the rose hip oil on damp skin. Would I use this on top afterwards? I also use the night cream after so just trying to figure out where this should fit in my routine. Please advise
