With rosacea, the gut connection is particularly striking. Abnormal gut transit time is also a risk factor for small bacterial intestinal overgrowth (SIBO). The results demonstrated a significantly higher presence of SIBO in rosacea patients than controls, with the treatment of SIBO improving the rosacea lesions observed.
