This week marks the unveiling of our newly rebooted Salvation Jane Age Confidence Cream. It's been completely reimagined, and it's keeping my winter skin plumped and happy.

To celebrate its rebirth, I'm using this space to talk about ageing. Ageing isn't serious. The way we talk about it is.

Our Age Confidence range was born from my complete disenchantment with the anti-ageing language that dominated beauty. I'll never forget the US distributor who told me that rejecting anti-ageing was "commercial suicide". We never gave her our business. And our more enlightened approach hasn't hurt us one bit.

Beauty marketing has improved profoundly since we launched this range. We played our part in that shift. But we've still got work to do. So here I am, back on my soapbox.

When we commissioned research on what makes a woman beautiful, the answer was clear: confidence, not youth. This was something I'd believed for years, but it was wonderful to discover others felt the same.

What builds confidence most? Time, of course.

I look back at my younger self, dreaming of starting a skincare business, and smile. So much has happened since then. Each year brings more confidence and less taking myself too seriously.

Here's to the laughter lines and everything they represent.
