Serums are the most misunderstood step in skincare. Too powerful, too complicated, too likely to cause a reaction. At least that's what everyone with sensitive skin has been told.

Sarah Brown founded Pai because she couldn't find a serum that didn't make her skin tingle, burn, or break out. Turns out, the problem wasn't serums. It was how they were formulated.

I tried them all and reacted to every single one. I just couldn't find anything that didn't make my skin tingle. Which is why I wanted to formulate serums for people like me, who can't tolerate serums. And now I'm proud to say we have. - Sarah Brown, Founder of Pai Skincare

The truth is, serums deliver results nothing else can match. Higher concentrations of actives. Smaller molecules that penetrate deeper. Targeted solutions for specific concerns. You just need the right one for your skin.

Choosing a face serum for sensitive skin

Start with your main skin concern. Not what Instagram thinks you should worry about. Not what worked for your friend. What actually bothers you when you look in the mirror.

Oily skin that's also dehydrated? That's a hydration problem, not an oil problem. Your skin might be overproducing oil to compensate for lack of water. Redness that flares with certain products? You need calming actives that actually calm, not just products that claim to.

Match your concern to the right serum, with formulations that work even when your skin doesn't tolerate much.

For oily, combination or blemish-prone skin

All Becomes Clear

Pai Copaiba & Zinc Perfect Balance Blemish Serum

Most blemish serums strip your skin with alcohol and acids. We took a different approach. All Becomes Clear uses adaptogens and prebiotics to calm inflammation (the root cause of spots) while balancing oil production.

The lightweight gel texture sinks in fast. No residue, no shine, just clearer skin that stays balanced all day. Clinical trials showed visible improvement in blemishes and oil control without any drying or irritation.

For redness and hypersensitivity

Instant Kalmer

Pai Sea Aster & Wild Oat Instant Calm Redness Serum

When your skin reacts to everything, you need a serum that interrupts the inflammation cycle. Instant Kalmer combines sea aster (which actively reduces neurogenic inflammation) with adaptogens that help skin handle stress better.

This is our most gentle serum, specifically formulated for reactive skin that flares at the slightest provocation. The cooling gel texture provides instant relief while the actives work to strengthen your skin's tolerance over time.

For dry and dehydrated skin

Back To Life

Dehydration makes every skin concern worse. Fine lines look deeper. Sensitivity increases. Even oily skin can be dehydrated (and often is). Back To Life delivers deep hydration without heaviness.

Head of Marketing Nicola uses the Pai Back to Life Hydration Serum

We use hyaluronic acid at multiple molecular weights, so it hydrates at every layer of skin. Plus prebiotics that strengthen your barrier's ability to hold onto that moisture. The result? Skin that stays hydrated for up to 72 hours, not just until your next cleanse.

For very dry or eczema-prone skin, this is the serum that brings dull, tight skin back to life. Hence the name.

How to use your serum

Serums work best on clean, slightly damp skin. Apply after cleansing and toning, before moisturiser. The water helps the serum spread and penetrate better.

Use gentle pressing motions, not rubbing. This minimises irritation and helps the product absorb. One pump is usually enough for face and neck.

Morning or night? Depends on the serum. Hydration serums work brilliantly under makeup. Blemish and calming serums can go either way. If you're using multiple serums, apply the thinnest texture first.

The bottom line on serums for sensitive skin

You don't have to miss out on the benefits of serums just because your skin is reactive. The key is choosing formulations designed specifically for sensitivity, not just regular serums with the irritants removed.

Every Pai serum is patch-tested on sensitive skin. No alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, no irritating acids. Just targeted actives in formulations gentle enough for daily use.

Because sensitive skin deserves results too.
